What's happening to NVQs and QCF?

In the current climate of confusion and uncertainty within the assessment and verification arena, I feel compelled to give some direction and dispose of the myths that are currently developing around NVQs, their future and associated issues.

You will be familiar with our Fact not Fiction approach to NVQ assessment through our Back to Basics Philosophy and Methodology and therefore below I have taken the same approach to these emerging myths.

ENTO, is a leading provider of continuous professional development events within the learning and development arena.

Over the last 19 years, ENTO has built an unparalleled track record and capability in the development of national occupational standards and national vocational qualifications (NVQs). Our work helps people develop their level of competency and skills, and is focused on the needs of learners, employees and employers.

ENTO has been responsible, on behalf of the Secretary of State for the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, for the guardianship of most aspects of the matrix Standard  for the last six years. Now in our seventh year, we have also assumed responsibility for the critical area of assessment.

ENTO's role and responsibility now involves the promotion, development, standard setting and Assessment and Accreditation of the Standard. There are currently over 5000 sites that have matrix Standard Accreditation which is the only national quality mark for information advice and guidance on learning and work.

On an annual basis, ENTO also operate, on behalf on the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) the highly prestigious matrix Excellence Awards, at the Institute of Directors, London.

ENTO is unique in that it represents, across all sectors, those whose occupation requires them to deal with people in the workplace: information, advice and guidance people; personnel staff; recruitment consultants; trade union and learning representatives; and health and safety at work practitioners.
